Missions

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Matthew 25:35-37

 Mission Projects
The Missions Committee of Woodbine UMC joins with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and Volunteers in Mission (VIM) to provide opportunities to make a real difference in the lives of the world's poor and marginalized.  These opportunities are local, national, and international.

~ The Missions Team has built several wheel chair ramps in Woodbine for those who need them, and has also done some minor home renovations for the handicapped.

~ Woodbine UMC has sponsored four Volunteers in Missions teams in recent years.  In 2001, a team went to the Dominican Republic; in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 teams went to Vancleave Mississippi to help with the rebuilding that is still necessary after Hurricane Katrina.  In 2012, the Team went to Manchester, GA to build a home that had been destroyed in the Spring storms.
